| 2010 is shaping up to be even bigger than last year! Thanks to all our suppliers, clients and ofcourse musicians. These first few months have flown by and kept us busily organising, arranging and playing. Still on the road ahead we have a series of shows in colaboration with composer Bernard Houston as well as concerts of recent works featuring our new larger ensemble and guest artists. Watch this space for more information on these performances and we hope to see you there! |

| Nocturne welcomes PM Kevin Rudd at IPPA National Conference Nocturne Strings was proud to be representing the Queensland Youth Orchestra playing the Australian National Anthem, for the arrival of the Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd at the Institue of Public Administration Australia National Conference. We thank the QYO for providing us with the opportunity to represent them as current and alumni members. |

| Looking forward to 2010 October has seen our inbox swell with the last minute bookings for the year and the bulk of the early 2010 weekends filling up. Coming up before the end of the year are colaborations with the Queensland Youth Orchestra who will be booking us for a public performance in November. More information coming soon! Next year Nocture Strings will be expanding once again to include a small string ensemble as a group available for hire. This is an exciting undertaking and opens us up to a whole world of new repertiore. |

| Prester John Recording Recently Nocturne Strings has been involved with recording selections from 'Prester John' as part of a plan to put the show onto the stage. Composer Bernard Housten was seeking experienced musicians for the recording session and approached Nocturne to manage the event. |

Featured Player - Louise Cottone Louise began her musical studies on the piano at the age of 5, the fifth of five siblings to do so. It was only when her family returned from a year in China in 1991 that she discovered the school music teacher had signed her up for the violin. At the age of 10 she began studying privately under Jane Rogers, until 1998 when she attained her AMusA under Deanne Silver. In 1999 she moved to Hong Kong with her family, and there became a member of the Hong Kong Youth Symphony, attained her ATCL on the violin and her CMusA on the piano... Read more... |

Nocturne Strings players are graduates of the University of Queensland and the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Many are now professional performers and teachers in the south-east Queensland corner. A complete set of biographies will be soon available for you to browse.
